Terms of use
Last updated 10 July 2026
These terms cover your use of the Hold to Say app and this website. By downloading or using the app, you agree to them. Plain-language summary first, details below.
The short version
- You get a personal licence to use Hold to Say on your own Macs.
- The app runs on your device. Your voice and text stay with you (see the privacy policy).
- It's provided as-is, without warranty. Use it at your own risk.
- Don't resell, redistribute, or reverse-engineer it.
Your licence
Hold to Say is a monthly subscription. While your subscription is active you receive a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use it for your own purposes on up to three of your Macs. A free 14-day trial is provided so you can evaluate the app before subscribing; when the trial ends, continued use requires an active subscription. The subscription renews automatically each month until cancelled, and you may cancel at any time (see the refund policy).
What you may not do
- Sell, sublicense, rent, or redistribute the app or your licence key.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source, except where that right cannot be excluded by law.
- Use the app to break the law or infringe anyone's rights.
Payments
Purchases are handled by our reseller, Lemon Squeezy, who acts as the merchant of record and manages payment and any applicable sales tax or VAT. Refunds are covered in our refund policy.
No warranty
Hold to Say is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We don't warrant that transcription will be accurate, uninterrupted, or error-free. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we're not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the app. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including your statutory rights as a consumer.
Changes
We may update the app and these terms over time. Material changes will be reflected here with a new date. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
